Global Game Jam (GGJ) is another game jam that is celebrated here in NZ and the world! Founded in 2010, GGJ is a 48-hour game jam where people make a game at the end of this event.
In Auckland, this was usually done in Media Design School. However, there were certain restrictions that may put others off and would discourage them to participate in the future despite the access to top-of-the-line resources of MDS.
Hence, for this year, the University of Auckland held its own GGJ site where people can come and go, have access to the latest tech, and a maker space all for free at Unleash Space.
This space, founded by the UoA Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), is the perfect place for people to collab, innovate and test out their ideas in a fun, engaging community and supportive environment
