Global Game Jam
X
University of Auckland

If you weren’t aware, Global Game Jam happened almost three weeks ago (wow, time sure flies :D) and it was exciting to have two sites in Auckland this year: one was in our University of Auckland and the other was in Media Design School.

Both sites had a lot of people turn up and made great games during this jam. Afterwards, a few showcased their gamesΒ on this month’s #AKLGameDev Meetup! Here are a few photos that shows the highlights of the event.
Global Game Jam is a 48-hour game jam/hackathon where people make a game in the span of one weekend.

This event is run worldwide and has been running for almost ten years now, so if you missed out on this year’s one. Be sure to keep an eye for the one next year πŸ˜‰

Club Expo 2020!

That’s right, with O-week starting up… well, today πŸ˜› the GDG is hard at work preparing for Club Expo next week. Be sure to check our social media pages for updates πŸ˜‰

If you’re interested to find out where we are for Club Expo, we’re at the Pavilion, the tent right after the clock tower, and near the entrance.

Also, we’re running a short survey for a potential project in the works. The GDG would love to have your input on it as this may benefit you guys in the long-term πŸ˜‰

And that’s it from us for February. Thank you for taking this time to read through our newsletters. We really appreciate it πŸ™‚

Stay tuned on what’s in store for the GDG in 2020. Stay golden πŸ˜‰
